Marketing Your Way Through The Internet!
A new venture
Video marketing has been around for years now, yet people have yet to fully realize its full potential. Business owners may have taken the leap when it came to Internet marketing, but video marketing is something that they haven’t heard of or haven’t thought of tackling. Video marketing is more than just creating videos; it’s the process of reaching out to a global audience without having to spend thousands of dollars. Basically, video marketing is free and/or cheap, and it’s way more effective than a traditional radio or TV commercial.
Teach old dog new tricks
Video marketing is a new marketing strategy that has been embraced by some and neglected by the majority. The common misconception here is that you need to know how to make videos like a professional in order to succeed. In fact, you only need basic movie editing or creation skills and a truckload of Internet marketing strategies to pull off a viral video campaign. For beginners, I highly recommend Animoto. It’s a great movie/slideshow creator that will allow you to post on certain video hosting sites like Youtube and Vimeo.
When it comes to sales training, it’s important to teach your staff about video marketing. It doesn’t matter if they have a background in IT or not because everything can be taught in this sample curriculum:
Internet marketing
The world is slowly going digital and business owners from all industries are taking the leap of faith by creating their own blog or website for their business. You should train your staff on how to handle websites and blogs, although don’t focus on the technical aspect of it. Teach them about the basics like how to add content to a WordPress or Blogger blog, how to publish, etc.
Defining the terms
Internet and video marketing has its own marketing jargons, none of which can make sense to anybody who’s not in the industry. Terms like backlinks, anchor texts, PR, etc., can be confusing so it helps to teach your staff about these terms and how important they are in the realm of video and Internet marketing. Heck, try explaining what Web 2.0 Link Building for Digital Marketers is all about and you will confuse anyone not familiar to the industry.
Social media sites
Trainers should teach their staff on the importance and value of social media sites like Facebook and Twitter to the business. This module will teach your staff about the statistics and facts behind these social media sites: total registered users, number of logins per day, number of posts per day, etc. Data like these are relevant and important because you are after the audience.
Video and Internet marketing is not a definite science. The curriculum I posted here is simply a guide on what you need to teach your staff when it came to this new marketing strategy.
