We are different people and anything we do is not constant or the same. There are those that are good with hands-on activities while others use their brains. This is the same with running a company. Owners usually hire people for different departments because they can’t do what these individuals can. You may want to write but sometimes, you can’t or maybe you just don’t have the time to do it.
When it comes to hiring and getting them into a contract, you still have to make sure you check on some things. These are the things that can help you pick out the best and the one that really matches your needs for a writer.
Think of your core values.
These are the values which are the main principles for your guidance. Why is this so? These are aspects that you should keep in mind to provide you answers in times of doubt. It’s also going to help you make hard decisions. Make sure you have already defined your core values before pushing through hiring someone for your work.
Determine their writing style.
There are writers that can do your bidding but some cannot. This is because writers write very differently as they have their own style. Give them an assessment first to determine whether or not the person is the one you’re comfortable writing your pieces with.
Be mindful of the cost.
You have to clear on the scope of your work and the things that are expected to be delivered online. Get an idea on the expenses on the job you need for others to do. Of course, you’ll be paying the person you’re hiring. So you have to make sure you have enough for your expenses so it wouldn’t be a problem.
Discuss deliverables.
Give the person an insight on what you’re trying to do. You want someone who can put up with your demands and be able to deliver what you need. So before anything else, you have to make sure you tell them your expectation and observe on what they are telling you.
Consider additional work.
Writers can do so many things but sometimes, they get burn out with what they are working. So see to it if you want your writer to only focus writing on your Ebook or do other things. Remember, making them multitask can cost you more again.
